Scotty Simpson’s has been serving fish & chips since 1950 in the Brightmoor neighborhood of Detroit. Owner Harry Barber grew up a block and a half away. He and his staff present the story of the restaurant through their food and their photos.

Fish and chips, half eaten before taking photo. One of the top ten places outside the UK for fish and chips. Everything is home made. Very fresh fish. Fries are hand cut. Great cole slaw.

Scotty Simpson’s  is the only sit-down restaurant in the Brightmoor neighborhood. They’ve been there over 60 years.

 


Coconut cream pie. Harry makes all their pies. Fresh on Fridays. Strawberry, rhubarb, blueberry, peach, chocolate cream pie, lemon meringue, banana cream.

 

The jukebox is only a quarter for two songs. Elvis, Patsy Kline, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Madonna, Aretha Franklin.
